Frizz?
Ali Edwards has a concept on her blog where you choose a word on which to focus for a whole year. This word is intended to inspire a focus, or maybe a change in your life. A change for the better. My word came to me as a joke at first, but the more I thought about it, it made sense to me because it stemmed from something that I have dealt with all of my life on both a literal level as well as a metaphorical level. My word is FRIZZ. I joke around with people all the time who freak out about their hair on rainy or humid days, running through the rain to keep the water off their dos. I always yell at them to "Embrace your frizz!" Just trying to be funny. But as I think about it, I have finally accepted and even embraced that frizz that I have fought against all of my life, and it feesls good. I have even come to love my frizzy hair, it is a big part of me, and I'm known for my wild hair. But that frizz also represents anything that is imperfect in my life. I have been told that I am a perfectionist, and not as a compliment. So I am working on letting go just a bit in my personal as well as my professional life and embracing FRIZZ on many more levels besides beauty! :) Hopefully it will help me be a better mother, sister, wife, friend, and co-worker.
